OMFG. This just isn’t going to stop.
Apparently a copy editor at a newspaper in Montana thinks they’re Donald Trump. An article picked up by the Montana Independent Record from the Associated Press about President Obama’s trip to Asia edited to read:
“The Asia trip underscores Obama’s efforts to establish the United States as an Asia-Pacific power, a worldview defined by 21st century geopolitics but also by Obama’s personal identity as America’s first Pacific president. Obama was allegedly born in Hawaii.”
Notice the word “allegedly”. According to the Associated Press, that wasn’t in their original copy. In an weak effort at damage control, the Independent Record stated this was a: “poor attempt at humor”, “a poor decision” and that “those responsible have been disciplined.”
Uh huh. Sure they have. That “birther” thing you got going on is so old news. Benghazi is where it’s at now, Dude. Oh yeah. That one’s been blown up too.
Seems that the intelligence community was responsible for the changes made to Rice’s Benghazi talking points, not the White House. According to a spokesperson for the Director of National Intelligence, “the White House did not make any “substantive changes.” In fact, former spy chief David Petraeus was pretty clear on the subject when he said:
references to terrorist groups suspected of carrying out the violence were removed from the public explanation of what caused the attack so as not to tip off the groups that the U.S. intelligence community was on their trail
